Archie
I’m Archie, a two year old terrier, with more than a little border terrier in my heritage. I’m athletically built with a lithe body and long legs ready for those country walks with my new family. I already walk well on my lead but would like my new family to help me with some more training. I can come across as a little anxious when you first meet me, but you will very quickly see that I am a friendly boy with a much wagged tail. I get on well with some other dogs and rather like older children. Hopefully you and your family will want me and will help me to get over my shyness.
Archie Beagle
Hi i'm Archie the Beagle, 8 months old and very handsome ! I love to keep busy, following my nose and playing fetch. I have lots of doggie friends to play with & enjoy a cuddle when tired. I can be a bit bossy so children in the home need to be teenagers but i could live with another dog or a confident cat who doesnt mind a game or two. I have the typical Beagle stubborn personality at times and will need confident handling.
Bernard
I’m a 9 year old, Labrador x. I was brought to Raystede after being found on the streets of London. I’ve gone from a thin, anxious and lost dog, to a shiny coated boy and I’ve built up my weight so I’m now a bit beefier and you can no longer see my ribs. I love human company and my inquisitive nature makes me want to be involved in whatever is going on around me. I’m always ready for a brisk walk and love being brushed. I would make the ideal loyal and devoted companion to new owners. I’m not always keen on others dogs or cats – so would like to be the only dog in my new home but could be welcoming of older teenagers as part of the family who adopt me. I have Lots of love and loyalty to give to a family who would take me in.

Bobby
I’m Bobby, a one year old Staffie. I am just a youngster who needs a family that would welcome a little Staffie character into their home. I have all the bounce you would expect and am ready to become a loyal and true member of your ‘pack’. My brindle colouring and soulful eyes make me a handsome young chap, and my friendly way with everyone, including other dogs, could make me a welcome addition to your family and friends. I’d love to live with older children and hope someone will want to take an interest in training, as a youngster like me needs to develop and get the skills and attitude to respond well on the lead and listen to what you want me to do. Hope you will want to come and meet me and take me to my new home.

Casper
I’m Casper, an 18 month old Springer Spaniel. I’m a busy boy with lots of energy, just right for a country home, where I could settle down. With my soft coat, eager approach to life and sociable nature, I could fit in well with a family, including a family with older children. I’m also sociable with other dogs and could even share my new home with a confident cat.
Chase
5 year old x breed. I am a girl who needs a secure home where understanding people will want to work with me and help me gain the confidence I need to feel relaxed and secure with people. There’s a lovely me inside waiting to be discovered but kennel life doesn’t make this easy for me to show – is there someone out there who might look at me and think I’m the one you would be happy to work with and live with so I can develop and be all the lovely companionable things I know I can become?
China
I’m a pretty 18 month old Staffie, who can be a little bashful but quickly get to know people and then enjoy cuddles galore from new friends. I’m pretty sociable with other dogs – even when they’re cheeky or unfriendly and can even maintain my cool if they try to nip me! My breed has a reputation for sound temperament and I think with inner and outer beauty I could be a happy addition to your family and make you a faithful companion. I love playing rather than being tough – I have impeccable behaviour on my lead and I’m known here for being a steady, sweet girl. My gentle personality will help me to settle easily with older children and make me a great pal for you! It could also make me a good friend for a male dog (so, if you already have a dog you could bring him up to say hello). I’m getting a bit fed up with kennel life and want to be special to someone who wants me as much as I want that happy home.
Fudge
My name is Fudge and i am a very pretty, sweet natured staffie x. I am only 7 months old and very shy. I will make new friends quickly and I am becoming more confident going for walks, playing and starting to enjoy my training to. I am scared of children, and could be trained to live with a confident cat. I can be shy of new dogs and need some more support learning to mix with them.
Jack
2 year old Terrier X. Hello – I’m Jack and am much in need of a new home, where patient, consistent care and attention could bring out all the good things in me. I can understand some basic commands but there’s more to do to complete my training. I’m not ready for a life with other dogs or children – but hope someone will want to spend time with me so I can learn so much more and enjoy my life and become part of a happy home.

Jimmy
male yorkie x 3 years old,Poor Jimmy has had a hard start to life and was kept caged so has missed out on a lot of socialising. Jimmy needs basic training for response and needs to build his confidence and trust of people. Jimmy can not live with children and dislikes male dogs he has poor communication skills due to previous isolation.

Kate
3 year old female JR,found as a stray poor kate was covered in fleas with a skin condition and very smelly. Kate has low tolerence of some dogs and could live with children who are respectful of her. Kate loves her toys and will fetch and retrieve for you, Kate needs basic training for focus and control but is very eager to please her handler so training should be a delight.

Major
5 month old male labrador x, I’m looking for someone who will want to help me to understand the world and those around me. I’ve got a fair bit of socialisation to go through before you can get to my big personality. I’m only a youngster so there’s lots of time for me to grow and develop. Hopefully an adult home will spend the time giving me lots of exercise and getting me to appreciate how nice other people and dogs can be.

Marmite
I am a 3 year male old pug x, Marmite is social with other dogs and could live with children who are respectful of him. Marmite needs basic training for focus and control and enjoys fun walks, lots of play and lots of cuddles.

Mary
5 month old staffie female. I am under-going vet care at the momment and this will restrict the environment I can live in.
Mia
I’m Mia – a 10 month old gsd x rough collie. I’ve got lots of energy and I’m a big beauty with a healthy coat and shining eyes. I need someone (with muscles!) who can hold me as I learn to walk well on a lead. I’m only a youngster and still need to learn not everyone wants me to greet them by jumping up and need to be encouraged to give a little less mouthing. More training might help you to see just how wonderful a companion I could become. I’ve already shown in kennel life how much I like other dogs – although, like most dogs (and people) I don’t like all dogs. Older children are more likely to cope with my energy and enthusiasm than youngsters and hopefully someone reading this wants to come up to Raystede and will take me to my new home.
Milo
I’m Milo – a 2 year old Yorkie Cross. I’m a pretty little boy with a huge personality. I’d love to join you for country walks so I can show you just how much energy a little dog can have. Afterwards I would love a good brush and a cuddle on the sofa. I know I need to relax more – but I’ve put some stressful months behind me and with some calm patient handling I want to start enjoying life in my new home. It’s true I can be a bit nervous of men and children – sometimes they seem so big and move too fast for me. Hopefully you could help me to trust human beings and to get to know other dogs and eventually, maybe even cats. Right now I need to be the only dog in the home. Perhaps you would come and see me and see if I could be a part of your family?
Murphy
Hello I’m a 7 year old cross breed boy. I’m quite a big, bouncy chap, who likes other dogs and would be quite happy in a home with children, as long as they recognise my size, weight and Tigger like bounciness. I’m stocky and hope you will think I’m a beautiful boy and maybe I’ll sit still long enough one day for you to be able to brush and groom me. I’m hoping my new family will want to help me learn so that I keep my bounce but get trained to be comfortable on a lead and respond well to my new family’s needs, so that you are proud of me and want to make your home, my new home.

Norris
I’m Norris, a smart 18 month old Terrier. I have a striking brindle appearance and bright white chest, making me a handsome boy and behind my kind eyes you can see how affectionate a boy I am. I’m a bit enthusiastic - but a family with older children could love having me in the heart of the family, walking me to use up some of my boundless energy and helping me to learn the boundaries in my new home. I’m a youngster needing a caring family who want to see me develop into the mature, happy fellow I want to grow and become.

Nugget
I am a 5 month old male x-breed
Patch
I am a 18 month old male spaniel mix, Patch has had a traumatic few weeks after he got attacked by another dog and is now fearful of other dogs so will need patience and understanding in this area. Patch would be unsuitable to live with children as he finds them scary. Patch will need a commitment to his training and he is a very active dog so will require enough exercise to keep him happy.
Rocky
I’m Rocky – a 1 year old Male lab x greyhound. In line with my breeds, I am a fast moving, yet sturdy boy. I’m looking for a family, perhaps with older children, who can enjoy my high energy and will want to give me some consistent, loving training, so I can grow into a calm fully grown boy. I like other dogs (although sometimes they get nervous of me , probably because of my size and enthusiasm!). If you like a good walk, and can match my strength and help me adjust to walking on a lead, I’d love you to come and get to know me.

Spider
I’m Spider, a little 5 month old miniature Pinscher. I’m pretty sociable with other dogs and children – although older children might be better in my new home as they would need to be conscious of my size and the need to treat me gently. I’m a boy who likes plenty of cuddles and attention, although I could miss you if you leave me – and am a bit of an escape artist, so might try to follow you! Someone in my new family who would help me with some training would be lovely.

Toto
I’m an energetic 2 year old female terrier. I’ve got a big personality in a little body. I’m affectionate and although I’m only little, I love a good deal of exercise, so will be quite happy to join you on a good walk. I’m pretty sociable with other dogs, - and older children might like me to join their family. I think I am going to make someone a very loving, devoted pet – hopefully you will want me to become part of your family.

Tye
Hello, I’m Tye – a 10 month old gsd x rough collie. I’m a rather beautiful boy with my lion coloured collar ruff and big ears. I’m a highly intelligent, big strong boy and need someone strong who can help me learn to walk well on a lead. In a family home, maybe with older children, I can build on my kennel training (where I am doing exceptionally well) and you can help me to learn that I don’t have to jump up to demonstrate I like you and that you will love me just as much if I stay calm and (just occasionally) sit still!

Rehome a...
Each year we receive some 1500 new animals at Raystede. For many of them what they most need is a loving home where they can make a fresh start. When we rehome an animal, our job is a bit like a dating agency, finding the best match between each animal and their possible future owner.
Every animal has different characteristics and habits which may or may not fit with your home life. That is why at Raystede we take such special care to get to know every animal before rehoming.
For example, for our dogs and cats we use a traffic light system which gives valuable information about the needs of each dog, both to our visitors and volunteers. Only then does the matchmaking begin!
