Hi, we are Boris and Lola, two Bassetts approximately 7-8 years old, we are the best of buddies and want to find a home together. Despite being neglected and without human company in our last home we are both very loving and affectionate dogs. We like other dogs but unfortunately not cats, but we could live with older children who are able to be involved with our care and treat us with kindness and respect. We would love a home that can give us steady regular exercise, company and the love and care that we have missed on in the past.
Hello my name is Danny and I am a lovely 2 year old Greyhound. I am a very friendly boy, but I can be a little shy at first. I like some other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I could live with confident older children who are able to be involved in my training. I would like a fun loving home with lots of toys and good walks please. Please research my breed type.
Hello my name is Ernie and I am an 8 year old large cross breed. I’m looking for a new home where I can have lots of affection and fuss. I like other dogs and could possibly live with one if we were a good match, any resident children need to be older and used to living with a dog. I’m learning to walk nicely in a halti but will want to have a good run around in a secure area. I am currently in a foster home taking a break from kennels, if you would like to me meet I would be happy to come along to see you. Here is what my foster carers have to say..... "Since he has been with us he has been a perfect gentleman, he does as he is told such as sit, stay, leave, off and calm? He walks very well on the lead. He is very sociable but gentle at the same time when he meets other dogs in the park, even when he see’s a cat, rabbit or squirrel he responds to Ernie leave and will walk on. We have not yet walked him off the lead because he is not ours. He loves his food and at present we feed him separately from our dog as she will try and dive in and eat the lot, he does not really understand biscuits or chews but is slowly getting used to them. We hope this information helps to give someone that may be interested in adopting him some idea into the soft nature that Ernie has."
Hello my name is Frank and I am a 12 year old gentle lurcher. I am a very loving and affectionate dog. I like other dogs and could live with older calm children, who would know how to treat me with kindness and respect. Each year we receive some 1500 new animals at Raystede. For many of them what they most need is a loving home where they can make a fresh start. When we rehome an animal, our job is a bit like a dating agency, finding the best match between each animal and their possible future owner.
Every animal has different characteristics and habits which may or may not fit with your home life. That is why at Raystede we take such special care to get to know every animal before rehoming.
For example, for our dogs and cats we use a traffic light system which gives valuable information about the needs of each dog, both to our visitors and volunteers. Only then does the matchmaking begin!
