Rehome a small animal

Are you interested in giving a loving home to small animals such as mice, hamsters or rabbits? At Raystede we have a small animal section which cares for some 130 animals brought into us.

We do have some simple guidelines for all our potential carers.  Each type of small animal requires different sorts of care and housing and in our Meet the animals section you can find more details. Our small animal team are very to explain to potential carers what each animal needs.

All the small animals receive the very best of care while here at Raystede, including vaccinations, any needed medication, health checks, neutering, spaying and micro-chipping.

Adoption fees

To cover some of our costs, we ask for an adoption fee of;
Guinea Pigs - £10
Rabbits  - £20
Chinchillas - £25
Degus, rats, mice, hamsters and gerbils - £5

Raystede Rabbit Runs

This is the minimum sized run recommended by Raystede; 12' x 12'.

Using aviary panels, a large rabbit run can be constructed both cheaply and quickly and moved around a garden easily.
Fruit netting would be a cheap option for use as a cover for your run, but something stronger and sturdier would be needed regarding predators, if they would be a potential problem.
