Thank you for your interest in working at Raystede. We currently have the following positions available;

Animal Care Assistant

37.5 hours a week – working alternate weekends, plus four days during the week.
£15,119.03 per annum

We need a full time, permanent Animal Care Assistant at Raystede, initially for the Wildfowl, Fowl and Small Animals Section (although all our Animal Care Assistant jobs are flexible and can work in any of our animal care sections).

Wendy Holford, the Team Leader in this area, manages the support for the Sanctuary (the large lake and surrounding land in the middle of the Raystede site), where hundreds of ducks, geese and wild birds live.  In addition, Wendy cares for a Wild Life Hospital, the Tortoises and Terrapins and the rehoming service for a vast variety of small animals, including Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Rats and Mice, Chinchillas and Gerbils, etc.

We need someone to join the team, who already has their NVQ 2 Animal Care qualification (or alternative Animal Care qualification).  You will need to be able to drive to access the site.  Hours of work are 08.30-16.30 hours, with alternate weekend working.

Estates Assistant

37.5 hours per week.

Applicants will need to have experience in;

Building/construction and ground maintenance.

Good practical skills, including; carpentry, general building, decorating, plastering, basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical techniques.

Empathetic and compassionate when working with both people and animals.

Casual cafe assistant

Looking for an experienced cafe assistant.

Reliable and flexible approach to work hours.

Ability to prepare light lunches including sandwiches, soups and jacket potatos.

Cash handling experience preferred.

Happy to work both in a team and alone at quieter times.

Various hours particularly weekends and school holidays.
