Overview
Bring your school to Raystede
We know that school trips contribute significantly to the personal development of young people. With every school trip to Raystede we aim to put knowledge into practice designing sessions that meet the specific learning objectives of the National Curriculum. We aim to inspire children to value and care for animals whether as pets or in the wild.
What we offer:
Curriculum-linked fun-filled educational day trips for schools. These can be tailor-made by our accredited education team to fit each group’s requirements.
We aim to make each day a memorable experience for children, with plenty of hands-on activities to boost their confidence, social skills and passion for discovery.
Something for every child: We have a cosy and interactive education room called the ‘den’, a special children’s garden, and a real ‘yurt’ – a fabulous learning space which can accommodate up to a hundred children.
Full disabled access: Raystede offers wheelchair access throughout, helping children with disabilities to be fully included.
A wonderful range of animals to delight and admire Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, ferrets, parrots, chickens and many more. A café and shop in which children can spend some pocket money if they wish.
We have an Education Booklet which will give you more information on all that we offer.
No formal charge for our education programme
At Raystede we make no formal charge for educational visits. As a charity we instead encourage donations towards our animal care and education work.
It costs Raystede more than £4000 a day to run all our services caring for animals. Why not make Raystede your school’s designated charity and raise money through the year.
Take a look at our Fundraising for Schools leaflet for some fun ideas.
