Daisy, Daisy, give us your answer do, we're half crazy all for the love of you!

Thursday 16 February

The pony found abandoned in a field near Barcombe, Lewes in January is now at Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare. ‘Daisy’ as she is now known is settling in well.

She is already becoming a firm favourite with Raystede staff and is very much loved.

Head of Equine, Hannah Fielding said, “She is in isolation currently and will be until she had had all of her inoculations. She recovered well after successful surgery, and we just have to make sure now that she and her wound are looked after properly with gentle loving care. Her injuries were severe so there is a chance she may have more problems. But she is doing really well! We hope to keep her as long as she can be integrated into our existing herd - if not we will find her a new and loving home.”

Chief Executive, Nigel Mason added “The veterinary bill was over £1,700 and will certainly riseas she will require more medical assistance. This is obviously a huge drain on our limited resources but we will, of course, do everything that is necessary to ensure Daisy is cared for.”
