Raystede launches its “Rumbly Tums” campaign on World Animal Day; 4th October.

Thursday 4 October

The autumn and winter period always sees a greater demand placed upon Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare. With more animals coming into our care and the costs of feeding and keeping them warm increasing.

This year, we are using World Animal Day on 4th October to launch our “Rumbly Tums” campaign.

With over 1,500 animals in our care at any one time, from hamsters, chickens and rabbits to cats, parrots, dogs and donkeys, we have worked out that it costs on average £6 per day to look after each and every one of them.

We are asking as many people as possible to cover the cost of caring for one of the animals we are looking after by donating  £6 on World Animal Day by texting: FEED06 £6 TO 70070 or by giving through our website.

Our Education team will be visiting Ringmer Primary School on the day to talk to the children about helping their pets at home. Hedgehog Class at Barcombe CE Primary School will be dressing up as animals to help raise money for Raystede as part of World Animal Day.

In the run up to Christmas, Raystede will be placing extra collection boxes in local shops and any shop owners that would be willing to take a “Rumbly Tums” collection box should call fundraising on: 01825 840747 or email fundraising@raystede.org
