Stray cat reunited with his owner after two years!
Friday 7 September
Raystede had a cat brought in yesterday which the lady had owned for two years after finding him as a stray. She called him Michael.
One of our staff scanned for a microchip only to discover that he had been reported missing two years ago. The staff member got in touch with the owners and an overjoyed gentleman, Mr Watson came up immediately and took him home! Apparently, the lady that had been looking after him for the past two years had taken him to her vets but he was never scanned for a microchip, which is quite unusual .
If you ever find a stray cat, please remember that the first thing you should do is take it to a vet to check for a microchip before
starting to feed it or before bringing in to a rescue centre.
If procedure had been followed correctly with Michael, he could have been re-united with his owners two years ago!
