Our Wildfowl Sanctuary is an area of approximately nine acres and provides peace and tranquility for a wide variety of birds. We have over twenty different breeds of ducks and geese, which can be seen on our lakes daily. Throughout the year the sanctuary is a beautiful place, just right for a leisurely walk, or for the amateur bird watcher, a chance to study birds. We have provided a number of seats and a picnic area to help people enjoy the sanctuary, and you can enjoy feeding the inhabitants with mixed corn from the shop.

We also have several enclosures within the sanctuary where we look after a variety of birds (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, roosters, muscovy and many more) when their owners are unable to keep them any longer. All these birds will be re-homed to best suit the bird’s requirements.

Mr. Buff and Mr. Darcy

At present we have two wonderful turkeys; Mr. Darcy (a bronze) and Mr. Buff, who were signed over to us recently. They have become our most popular residents, especially with the children.
