We require volunteers to support the team in providing care for our small animals, which include rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, gerbils, degus and chinchillas.0214091v3

Wildlife, Fowl and Smalls Team Leader


Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare

 Days or Hours Required:

  • Weekdays – 9.00am to 12.30pm only

Description of duties:

  • Cleaning tanks and cages
  • Cleaning rabbit runs and hutches
  • Cleaning the Isolation unit
  • Socialising and supplying enrichment for all smalls animals
  • Health checks and assisting in taking animals to our onsite surgery

Skills and Experience you will need:

  • Happy working outside in all weathers
  • Confident to work alone and in small teams
  • Ability to cope with a physical role involving some lifting and carrying
  • Polite and engaging manner and happy to talk to visitors
  • An interest in working with small animals
  • Own transport to get to and from Raystede

How you will make a difference:

We have a large small animal house, isolation unit and 16 outside runs. Your support is very helpful in looking after the small animals while they look for their forever homes and supporting our staff.
