WILDLIFE Volunteer

We require volunteers in the Spring to support the team in providing care for our Wildlife, which include wild birds, fledglings and hedgehogs.

 Reporting to:Bird

Wildlife, Fowl and Smalls Team Leader


Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare

Days or Hours Required: 

  • Weekdays – 9.00am to 12.30pm only

Description of duties:

  • Helping to care for injured wild birds, fledglings and Hedgehogs
  • Cleaning units and flights
  • Assisting with release of recovered wildlife

Skills and Experience you will need:

  • Happy working outside in all weathers
  • Confident to work alone and in small teams
  • Ability to cope with a physical role involving some lifting and carrying
  • Polite and engaging manner and happy to talk to visitors
  • Own transport to get to and from Raystede

Working in the hospital caring for our injured wildlife is hugely rewarding and makes a real difference to the wildlife in our care. Your care and support will help in the recovery and rehabilitation of the wildlife in the hospital.
