1 July 2021

Following Raystede's toughest ever year, we are looking for brave, animal lovers to take on our toughest challenge yet. We are excited to announce that we have a limited number of places for people to descend from Brighton's i360 building.

This challenge will take place on the evening of Thursday 1st July. It is the highest controlled descent in the UK. Before beginning your challenge you will be taken up to the viewing platform, which is 531ft high. You will have time to admire 360 degree views of Brighton and the South Coast as you wait for your turn to drop. Once it's your turn to take on this incredible 162m descent, you will be guided every step of the way by a professional instructor.

Prior to your descent, you will be attached to safety lines secured to the pod and your safety system checked by your instructor. Using the safest rigging system conceivable, you will be asked to lean backwards, letting the ropes take your weight. The instructors will let you know when to take that leap of faith, and away you go!

Descending through the air at speed, you will be treated to some sea views as you journey toward the ground. Once complete, you will be assisted by another instructor, who will unclip you from the system and help you to remove your safety equipment.

We have two slots available on the evening of Thursday 1st July. The first one is at 7 p.m. and the second one is at 8.40 p.m. To take part in this thrilling challenge there's a £25 registration fee to secure your place and we ask that each person raises £250 for Raystede. Did you know that for every £250 you raise it could buy a month's worth of food, toys and medication for two of our kennel dogs.

We need your help more than ever. Due to the pandemic, every day we've been closed to visitors we've been losing £1,000. We rely on sponsorship and voluntary donations to care for the animals that come to Raystede. Through no fault of their own, they depend on us to look after them. Together we can give these animals a better life and make sure they get all the love they deserve.

So sign up to the iDrop challenge today. Places are limited! You can secure your spot by clicking here.
