27 June 2021

Do you fancy taking on a big challenge in 2021 for Raystede? We're challenging you to run Brighton's very own half marathon and at the same time raise vital funds for the animals at our centre. Perhaps you have just started jogging in the recent lockdown. Why not make it count and set yourself a training goal by signing up to the 2021 Brighton Half Marathon?

We have noticed that many people have been digging out their running shoes during this pandemic and there's been more joggers out on the streets. It would be wonderful if in 2021 Raystede could form it's biggest team ever to take part in the Brighton Half Marathon. With our centre being shut to visitors during the pandemic we have been losing £1,000 a day and need your help more than ever to take care of the animals at Raystede.

The Brighton Half Marathon is on Sunday 27th June and is one of the first major half marathon's in the running calendar and is now one of the most popular races in the UK. This UK Athletics certified race features a stunning seafront course in one of the country's most vibrant cities. From Brighton Pier to the Royal Pavilion, the impressive course takes in Brighton's key landmarks.

We have currently SOLD OUT of all our charity spaces. If you would like to join our reserve list you can click here. For all those with a Raystede charity space it's £25 to register and we're asking that you raise £150 for the animals at Raystede.

(*Your safety is our priority. If an event is cancelled due to the pandemic you will be given the option of taking on your challenge on an alternative date and if you have one of our charity places you can ask for a refund. Check out our Covid Promise here.)

After signing up you will be sent a welcome pack, Raystede t-shirt, as well as being offered a behind the scenes tour of Raystede so that you can see the animals you're helping by running for us. You will receive support from us leading up to the event and on Half Marathon day itself we guarantee to make lots of noise for you and cheer you on.

If you have your OWN PLACE in the half marathon there's no fundraising target and we appreciate anything you manage to raise for us. We will then send you out a welcome pack and Raystede running top. You will also be given the opportunity for a behind the scenes tour of Raystede and we will be there on the day to cheer you on and make lots of noise for you as you run past.

LET US KNOW YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PLACE AND WOULD LIKE TO RUN FOR RAYSTEDE BY FOLLOWING THIS LINK.

If you're not a runner but would like to support Team Raystede, then why not join our cheer squad and help by volunteering on the day? Perhaps you have friends or family running in the race or would like to help motivate our runners who are raising vital funds for the animals.

Whatever your reason, let us know that you're up for joining the cheer squad by emailing fundraising@raystede.org or by phoning us on 01825 840747. We will give you your very own Raystede T-shirt to wear and supply you with refreshments to keep you well fueled so you're able to make lots of noise for the runners.
