Parts of the sanctuary, lakes area and aviaries will be closed to the public until further notice
The Government introduced an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) across the whole UK at 5pm on Wednesday 3 November. No Raystede birds are affected by this virus but we are required to put in place a range of measures to protect our birds. We are still open and welcome visitors to the rest of the site – please book your ticket. Our animal rehoming services remain unaffected and will continue as normal; our bird rehoming service will be limited

By taking part in the Brighton Trail Marathon you will be helping rescue animals like Purdi below. Every step you take, will help us to give animals like Purdi the love and care they deserve.

While they are patiently waiting for their forever home they will be walked 3 times a day, have access to any necessary veterinary treatment, have toys to play with, as well as food and treats to eat. They can even play in our sand pit, let off some steam by running around in a field and using agility equipment or enjoy a splash in a paddling pool if it's a hot day.

Raystede never give up on any animal and will provide the best care to animals like Purdi- but none of this would be possible without supporters like you raising vital sponsorship for us.

After signing up to run for Raystede you will receive support leading up to your challenge and we'll be there to cheer you on and motivate you on the day itself!

We will send you a welcome pack and Raystede T-shirt after signing up and you will be offered a unique chance to come on a tour of Raystede and see the animals you are helping by running for us.

We also promise that your safety is our priority.
