Why not join us on one of our Daily Tours? These are totally free to take part in and are a great opportunity to hear more about our work and the life stories of some of our furry and feathered residents...
These will take place on Monday to Fridays during the term time at 12.15 p.m, subject to staff availability.
We meet outside Visitor Information, next to Mrs Raymond -Hawkins, our founder and the inspiration behind everything that you will experience on your tour.
The tour includes a stroll through the outdoor sections of of the site which are open to the public, escorted by an experienced team member. These include the aviaries, the sanctuary and the rabbitry. Depending on the appetite and mobility of the participants, there is the option to head over to the sand school and opposite fields to hear more about our horses, ponies and donkeys.
Please be aware that we cannot guarantee which animals will be visible on any given day. As a rescue centre and sanctuary, the needs of our animals are ever changing and as such whether they are out in the enclosures or not depends very much on their individual animal.
Regardless of whose out and about, you can rely on our friendly and experienced guide to share with you fascinating information about various animal sections, the work that we do and the challenges we face on a daily basis in improving the lives of the animals in our care and the wider world through outreach and education.
You can finish your tour off by having a lovely cuppa and cake (vegan options available) in our lovely warm café.
We welcome all our visitors to Raystede and are proud to offer these new guided tours so you can learn more about our work.
In addition to these tours, we run three animal related activities a day during the school holidays and at the weekends you’ll hear from the animal care staff about their work and you’ll have an opportunity to meet some of our lovely furry and feathered residents.
