On January 13th, we're kicking off the New Year with a sponsored dog walk in the beautiful Seven Sisters Country Park! It will be a rather special walk as you and your dog will get to watch the sun rise, while supporting the animals at Raystede! We will meet at 7.30 a.m to begin our 2.5 mile stroll through the country park. We will walk up to the Cuckmere Haven and back, and the terrain is mainly flat and easy to walk along.
Situated in the South Downs National Park, the Seven Sisters Country Park is made up of 280 hectares of chalk cliffs, meandering river valley and open chalk grassland. The Country Park is named after the famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs on one of Britain's finest unspoilt coastlines. By joining us on our New Dawn Sponsored Dog Walk and raising vital funds for the rescue animals at Raystede, you will be helping their years get off to the starts they deserve.
At the end of the walk we will have a 'Best in Show' where there will be a chance for your dog to win a special Raystede rosette. We will also run a 'Musical Sit' and every dog that joins us on the walk will receive a Free goody bag!
It's £2 to register per dog, which will cover your entry into all the below 'Best in Show' categories:
Biggest Smiler Waggiest Tail Most Appealing Eyes Silkiest Coat
Dog That Looks Most Like It's Owner Dog The Judge Would Most Like To Take Home
After signing up we will send you a welcome pack and will keep in touch leading up to the event. By coming on the walk, we're asking that you and your dog raise £35 in sponsorship. £35 could help us buy a cosy bed for one of the dogs in our kennels as well as a large bag of healthy treats! * We are very grateful to the country park for letting us hold our sponsored dog walk there, so please follow this linkto ensure that we are all practicing great dog ownership. All dog owners coming on the walk must clean up after their dog and must also keep dogs under control around livestock to avoid unnecessary stress and potential miscarrying of lambs.
