Will you take part in our new and exciting Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge? It's an iconic UK challenge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and you will climb Yorkshire's three tallest peaks in one day.
It's from Friday 6th September to Sunday 8th September and you will walk 24 miles as you take on the classic Yorkshire Peaks, which include Ingleborough (724m,) Pen-y-ghent (694m,) and Whernside (736m.) We are challenging you to complete these 3 peaks in under 12hrs!
The event takes place over 3 days:
Day 1 – Travel up to Yorkshire from Brighton. You will then have a mountain safety briefing, followed by an evening meal before retiring to bed so you are prepared for the big day itself!
Day 2 – We will wake up early to complete the challenge and will celebrate with a hearty meal and a pint in the evening.
Day 3- Travel back to Brighton and rest from all your hard work!
All mountain safety equipment will be included, although you will need your own personal mountain walking equipment. (We will provide a kit list after signing up.)
You will be joined by a qualified mountain leader, and accommodation and transport will be included too. We will all travel together in a minibus to and from Yorkshire. Euro selfdrive have been extremely generous to us, and are allowing us to borrow one of their mini-buses for the challenge. We rely entirely on voluntary donations to keep Raystede running, so really can't thank Euro selfdrive enough!
We will also provide you with an evening meal on the first day, all meals on day two, and breakfast on day three.
By signing up to this challenge you will be raising vital funds for the animals at our centre. The animals at our centre are often experiencing their own challenges in life, and by climbing these peaks you really will be helping the animals at Raystede to have a better life!
To sign up you can BOOK ON BY FOLLOWING THIS LINK.
There's a £50 deposit and then another £100 to be paid by the 1st August 2019, which will go towards the transport, accommodation and most of the food and equipment costs for the challenge. (If you like you could pay the full £150 when you sign up too, just select both the 'deposit' and the 'installment' option.
The fundraising target for this challenge is £400, which will help us to care for animals like Hagrid below.
Alternatively you could pay the £50 deposit and then fundraise £500. We will give you lots of tips and ideas to help with your fundraising, and will send you your very own welcome pack and Raystede top after you sign up.
Make sure you tell people about this marathon distance trek you are doing. It really is an extraordinary challenge and you will thoroughly deserve all the sponsorship you receive for it.
This challenge is quite a serious undertaking both physically and mentally, but will be such an achievement as you reach the top of the peaks and will feel extremely rewarding after you complete it. We will hand out medals and a certificate to everyone on completion of the challenge too.
If you have any questions about the event or would like to speak to us about fundraising, please contact email@example.com or phone us on 01825 840747.
As it is such a big challenge, we will offer all of our brave participants (and a plus one,) a behind the scenes tour, where you will see more of the animals that you are helping us to care for!
