2020 Night Kayak Challenge

Will you take part in our first ever Night Kayak challenge for the animals?

On Saturday 10th October we have teamed up with Hatt Adventures and are challenging you to take part in our new Night Kayak event...

You will take on this 6km kayak down the River Ouse, and will navigate your way down the river in the dark! Throughout the challenge your night vision will adapt to your new surroundings and you will have the chance to witness the natural environment around you on one of the most idyllic waterways in Sussex.

The challenge will start around 6 p.m. and the experienced instructors from Hatt Adventures will teach you the basics of kayaking just before the light starts to fade. This kayak is suitable for all abilities and you will be joined by like-minded animal lovers as you complete this night-time challenge.

We expect the event to finish around 9 p.m. Sit-on-top kayaks will be provided as well as the paddles and buoyancy aids. Suitable clothing for the time of year should be worn and a complete change of clothes with appropriate footwear is also needed, as well as a head-torch.

We have a few spaces left, so if you would like to join us on this challenge book onto this Night Kayak on Saturday 10th October by following THIS LINK. The registration fee is £20 and we are asking that you raise £150 for the animals at Raystede.

After signing up we will send you a welcome pack, which will include a kit list, sponsor forms and fundraising tips and ideas. We will also send you your very own Raystede t-shirt!

So, help animals like Bono (below) and BOOK ON TODAY.

Bono came to us in a state of neglect and is one of the longer stays at Raystede patiently waiting for a home. With your help we are able to look after Bono for however long it takes us to find somebody to love and care for him.

* Please note: The minimum age for this challenge is 16 and the maximum weight is 18 stone (115kg)
