Will you do something amazing for the rescue animals at Raystede and join our Spring Skydive? This once in a lifetime experience will take part in Salisbury airfield on Saturday 24th April and you will free fall from 10,000 ft at a speed of 120 mph. You will be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor as you take on this dare-devil challenge.
As Raystede emerges from the pandemic, we desperately need you to help us recover. We are still rescuing animals that people can no longer look after and we need your help to take care of them. By taking part in our Spring Skydive you will be helping us raise vital sponsorship so that every animal gets the food, bedding, veterinary care and the life that they deserve.
To join a group of like minded animal lovers, you can sign up for our Spring Skydive by FOLLOWING THIS LINK. We ask that you raise £395 for Raystede. A £70 deposit will secure your spot, which can be taken out of your minimum sponsorship money. There’s limited spaces on this challenge, so why not secure your place and book on today.
For every person that signs up and raises £395 for Raystede, you would be helping us to pay the vet’s bills for an old horse like Seamus (pictured below) for three months. Seamus is an Exmoor pony that came to Raystede in 1996. He was wild when found; he arrived with a nasty cut on his right eye that left him partially sighted. Over the years Seamus has had more trouble with his eyes and also hay fever (the horse equivalent). Seamus is around the grand old age of 40. His days are spent being groomed and wandering the paddock with his many girlfriends, musing on our old willow tree or standing cooling his hooves in his paddling pool. We could never re-home Seamus but – thanks to the support of people like you – we’ll make sure he has a good life in the time he has left.
We can assure you that there are safety measures in place to make the Skydive Covid compliant for both jumpers and spectators and you can read them here. If the jump had to be cancelled due to bad weather or Covid, we will arrange for you to Skydive on an alternative date instead. You can check out our Covid Promise here.
Skyline Events have given a Coronavirus update and have said, "As we move into the New Year, we are extremely confident that there our Skydiving programme will largely remain in operation throughout 2021. Many of our airfields have remained open for the majority of 2020, with hundreds of successful jumps being completed (with a number of COVID-secure measures in place) since the first lockdown ended. So if you’re planning on making 2021 the year you tick the ultimate adrenaline rush off of your bucket list – we’d encourage you to continue signing up & preparing for the big day as normal. All new reservations are valid for 12 months."
We will support you on the lead up to the challenge. You will receive a welcome pack and Raystede t-shirt after signing up, and we can give you lots of tips and advice so that you achieve your fundraising target. We will also be there on the day to cheer you on and provide moral support as you jump for the Raystede rescue animals.
You need no previous experience to skydive and you'll be attached to an instructor who is in complete control of your jump throughout, so all you'll need to do is kick back and enjoy the ride!
As you ride the parachute down to the ground, you will be taught how to steer onto the drop zone and will also receive a certificate on the day to prove that you have completed a ‘two-mile high’ Tandem Skydive!
If you would like more information before signing up, you can register your details by following this link. Alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone us on 01825 840747.
If you'd like to Skydive for Raystede, but don't want to join our Spring Skydive on the 24th April, we are holding a group skydive on Saturday 21st August in honour of International Dog Day and another group skydive on Saturday 9th October in honour of World Animal Day. Or you can pick a date that suits you! You can take part at any time of the year (weather permitting) so why not follow this link to book one.
* Please note: For a tandem skydive you must be at least 16 years old and be under 15 stone in weight. The principal medical restrictions are diabetes, epilepsy, fits, recurrent blackouts, heart or lung disease, mental illness and some cases of asthma. You will be required to sign a medical form before your jump declaring your fitness to take part - this will be sent to you upon receipt of your online booking but is also available on request. Those under the age of 18 will need the medical form signed by a parent or guardian; those with a medical condition will need it signed by their doctor.
Pre-existing physical conditions will not necessarily prevent you from taking part but please inform Skyline of any physical condition as this may affect the location of your jump. If you are in any doubt then please contact us for further information.
