Tilly

Tilly had severe laminitis and diabetes and her owner felt completely overwhelmed at the complexity of treating Tilly's conditions.

In the picture below Tilly, a little Shetland pony, is standing amidst a mountain of her own manure!

This is how we found her, in a very sorry state, when we were called in to help.

Tilly had severe laminitis and diabetes and her owner felt completely overwhelmed at the complexity of treating Tilly's conditions.

Tilly had been living alone since the death of her long term companion some months previously. Untreated laminitis is incredibly painful for ponies and can become so severe than it can result in euthanasia.

Tilly was clearly in pain with her hooves.

After the rescue we treated Tilly and were able to offer her sanctuary and a home for life here at Raystede. Below she is pictured meeting one of the equine herd at Raystede for the first time!
