Parts of the sanctuary, lakes area and aviaries will be closed to the public until further notice
The Government introduced an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) across the whole UK at 5pm on Wednesday 3 November. We do NOT have this virus at Raystede but we are required to put in place a range of measures to protect our birds. We are still open and welcome visitors to the rest of the site – please book your ticket. Our animal rehoming services remain unaffected and will continue as normal; our bird rehoming service will be limited

You are very welcome to visit and get a unique glimpse into our work. We are open every day between 10am and 4pm.

All visitors must book a ticket – it’s really easy to do online or you can phone our Visitor Information team.

Booking was introduced during the pandemic and we found this to be beneficial to the welfare of the animals in our care, many of whom are very shy and nervous and cannot cope with large numbers of people and noise. It also keeps our site safe for the animals, staff and volunteers and enables visitors to enjoy their visit and get a real insight into the day to day work of an animal welfare charity.
