My name is Bluebell and I am an extremely nervous 2 year old female Spaniel/German Shepherd mix. I will have various requirements from a new home and a strong commitment to helping build my confidence and providing training. I need an active lifestyle but calm, adult only home environment. People will need to be very patient and understanding of my fearfulness. I need training around other dogs and could only be placed with cats if they are very confident with dogs and people have experience of providing training.(height 18 inches to shoulder)
I’m Bobby, a 2 year old male leggy Jack Russell type. I’m really friendly, like other dogs and children but have not been cat tested yet. I’d make a great addition to any family.

Hi, we are Boris and Lola, two Bassetts approximately 7-8 years old, we the best of buddies and want to find a home together. Despite being neglected and without human company in our last home we are both very loving and affectionate dogs. We like other dogs and could live with older children who are able to be involved with our care and treat us with kindness and respect. We would love a home that can give us steady regular exercise, company and the love and care that we have missed on in the past.

At times we do have abandoned puppies available for homing. We currently have a German Shepherd mix pup. We aim to match puppies to homes that will be able to provide the socialisation and training they require along with a suitable lifestyle and environment to meet their needs as an adult dog. If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies and have already registered with us then please let us know. You can put through the web enquiry (let us know when you registered and the name under which you registered) or call 01825 880 464. We will add your form to the puppy list if suitable, be aware that demand can be high and we may not have time to get back to all applicants if the puppies are placed and you are unsuccessful. If you have not visited us yet to register then please visit the centre between 10am and 3pm to apply to adopt a puppy or dog. You will need to fill out an application form and attend an interview with kennel staff. We are open seven days a week, no appointment necessary. Please note that this enquiry is not part of the registration process and is not a method for reserving a puppy, we are unable to add people to waiting lists for puppies unless they have completed the registration process described above.
My name is Red and I am an active, attentive and inquisitive 2 year old male Husky. I was rescued from appalling conditions at a puppy farm, confined and unused to human contact. I have been undergoing extensive rehabilitation and though still nervous I am ready to start the process of finding a family to call my own. I will need experienced, patient and very committed people to continue to show me the kindness I need and support my development. I would benefit from living with other dogs but not cats and children would be considered if older. I will have specific needs from a home environment and the ability of the family to continue my rehabilitation. Please research my breed type’s character too.

Hello my name is Sammy and I’m a 7 year old Staffordshire bull terrier. I have only got three legs but I don’t let that stop me from having lots of fun. I’m looking for a lovely home where I can have lots of love and attention and go about things at my own pace. I like other dogs and could live with a confident cat. I could live with calm older children, i will make a great addition to somebody’s life, please don’t pass me by.
My name is Scooby and I am a 4 months old male medium sized mongrel. I’m really adorable and wiggly, love my cuddles and am learning new things and good behaviour really quickly! I like other dogs and could live with confident children that can help with my continued training. I am awaiting a cat test to check if I can live with a confident cat.
Hello my name is Shreddy and I’m an 18 month old medium mongrel. I am looking for a home that has owned dogs before that have required complex training needs dealt with in the correct manner. Unfortunately I have not had the best start to life as I was left to be mishandled by children so I don’t feel safe around them. I do not have any confidence with people I don’t know so it takes me a while to trust new people. The way I was treated means I won’t share anything I love, this includes my toys (and the odd slipper). These have been my friends (I can trust them) so do not want to let them go. So with the correct training and patience I will learn that I can share them with people. This also applies to my food my human friends at the kennels will advise you further on this. I am looking for an adult only home. I like other dogs but would need to be the only one in the home. I cannot live with cats but with time, patience and understanding I will make a great addition to the right home.
Hello my name is Sydney and I am an 18 month old Lurcher. I am a gentle and friendly dog. I love my walks and get on well with most other dogs. I have yet to be cat tested. I need some training around other dogs and could live with calm older children but no cats please!!
My name is Zora, I’m a pretty little female Staffie. I like strolling around the fields, making new friends, cuddles and playing. I’m not so keen on other dogs and no cat’s thank you!! I’d prefer an adult only home, older visiting children would be fine though.
Each year we receive some 1500 new animals at Raystede. For many of them what they most need is a loving home where they can make a fresh start. When we rehome an animal, our job is a bit like a dating agency, finding the best match between each animal and their possible future owner.
Every animal has different characteristics and habits which may or may not fit with your home life. That is why at Raystede we take such special care to get to know every animal before rehoming.
For example, for our dogs and cats we use a traffic light system which gives valuable information about the needs of each dog, both to our visitors and volunteers. Only then does the matchmaking begin!
