For someone with a fear of heights, it’s a brave decision. But for Jordan, the reason behind it makes every nerve-wracking moment worth it!
When Jordan joined Raystede’s Estates Team earlier this year, he thought he’d settle into his new role and keep his feet firmly on the ground. What he didn’t expect was that within just two months he would be signing up for an adrenaline-fuelled fundraising challenge, a wing walk in aid of Raystede!
Since joining the charity, Jordan has seen firsthand the dedication and compassion that goes into helping animals in need. From rescue and rehabilitation to rehoming, he’s witnessed the impact Raystede has on animals and the people who care for them.
As an animal lover himself, and a proud dog owner, Jordan felt compelled to do something that would benefit the many animals Raystede cares for. Following in the footsteps of his Estates colleague, Chris, who cycled from Lands’ End to John O’Groats in September raising money for the charity, Jordan opted to step outside his comfort zone and take to the skies on a wing walk.

Taking on a wing walk is no small feat, especially when heights are one of your biggest fears. But Jordan is determined.
“I wanted to challenge myself,” he says, “and I know the money raised will genuinely make a difference to the animals we support every day.”
Raystede receives no government funding, relying entirely on the kindness and generosity of its supporters to cover the £6,500 it costs each day to care for the animals.
If you’d like to support Jordan and sponsor him on his wing walk which takes place on 20 June 2026, visit his JustGiving page below!
If Jordan’s challenge has inspired you, why not join #TeamRaystede and sign up to take part in a wing walk and raise money for Raystede.
Every pound raised really does make such a difference and enables Raystede to be there to help animals when they need it the most.
