Some of the cats we take in need urgent medical care or are traumatised by neglect or abuse. As a result, some of the cats need over a month to recover before they're ready to go to a new home. Others simply need to be rehomed, maybe due to their owner’s ill health or a change in circumstances.
We have around 22 cats staying in our Cattery at any one time. We take in many older cats, sometimes due to the ill health or passing of their owner. Sadly, they can often take longer to rehome than younger cats, but we believe that special seniors make the most rewarding pets.

Our Cattery Team recently helped Coffee - a sweet older lady who sadly found herself at Raystede due to the ill health of her owner. At the age of 15, she was looking for a quiet retirement home to spend her golden years.
Older cats like Coffee make fantastic pets as they come with established personalities, so you know exactly what to expect. We knew Coffee would make a wonderful companion for the right person.
After over 2 months in our care, Coffee was adopted and went off happily to her forever home. Your sponsorship matters for cats like Coffee.
