Please Note!

Due to the current Avian Influenza Prevention Zone, our Aviaries and fowl areas remain closed to the public. Good news - the terrapin sanctuary and dog walk have now reopened. We do NOT have this virus at Raystede. We are still very much open and welcome visitors to the rest of the site.

Loki

One of our STAR dogs, Loki took time to find the right home but is settling in perfectly.

Loki arrived with us in poor physical condition and extremely underweight. He was immediately checked by the vet and put on a strict eating regime. He has steadily managed to gain and maintain weight. Blood tests were done to rule out underlying conditions.

Loki found everything quite a lot, and could find meeting new people and dogs a bit too exciting. He needed a lot of support from the Kennels team to manage this.

After a year in Raystede’s Kennels, we are delighted to share that Loki has been adopted and has settled in amazingly in his new home.

We recently received an update from his forever family:

"Bringing Loki into our home has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he was meant to be part of our family. Watching him grow from a cautious, anxious boy into a confident, playful, and affectionate companion has been nothing short of incredible. His boundless energy, loving nature, and quirky behaviour have brought so much joy into our lives, and every day, he reminds us of the power of second chances. Whether he's out on adventures or snuggled up at home, he has filled our home with more love and laughter. Knowing that we’ve given him a safe, happy forever home is the most rewarding feeling, and we truly cannot imagine our lives without him."
